SPARKS OF CHAOS No. 1: Comic Review

Sparks of Chaos 1 Comic Book

Have you ever come across Sparks of Chaos? It’s one of those comics that’s totally one-of-a-kind and full of surprises. Think of it like a crazy mashup between the mythic chaos of the TROJAN (AWA) comic series and the deep, thought-provoking vibe of God is Dead. But what initially catches your eye right away is the cover. It looks like some ancient Greek vase got a modern remix — super eye-catching, like a snapshot from a futuristic Greek myth.

This three-issue Sparks of Chaos story is brought to life by Schelm, Melnikov, and Malyshev, and it starts in a way that’ll make you do a double take. Picture this: a satyr just chilling and taking a leak in a urinal. Yeah, it’s that kind of comic — expect the unexpected.

Right now, I’m just doing a quick review of Sparks of Chaos #1, so you’ll get a brief overview of what’s happening. Sparks of Chaos definitely isn’t your typical comic — it’s a wild, adrenaline-fueled journey through a modern world intertwined with Greek mythology in a way that’s both epic and memorable.

Sparks of Chaos #1: Comic Review

So, the story of Sparks of Chaos #1 is set in the world of humans back in 2018. Mortals catch sight of this satyr, and let’s just say they’re not exactly thrilled. But messing with a satyr? Not a great idea — they learn that the hard way.

The satyr’s name is Alan Silen, and he’s actually a writer. Guess who he writes about? The Greek god, Dionysus! He still remembers his old buddy pretty fondly — especially the time Circe the witch ripped his heart out and the Maenads tore his body to shreds. All that madness happened just fifty years ago in Paris.

One day, Silen meets a young woman named Sappho at the Ulysses bar, and things quickly get messy after he tries to take her home for a hookup. Then, he gets what he thinks is a divine sign — after seeing someone trying to break into his Porsche. Since it’s happening on the same day of Dionysus’s supposed death, he decides to take action and sacrifice the thief. But just in time, Hermes shows up to stop him.

Things get even crazier when Sparks of Chaos jumps back in time, revealing the evil of the Monogod. And here’s one of the biggest twists: the guy who was trying to rob him? It turns out he’s most likely the new incarnation of Dionysus himself!

Sappho witnesses everything unfold right before her eyes, and before long, she finds herself heading home with the satyr, Silenus — who also goes by the name Alan Silen. But just before they reach his place, readers are treated to some intense action, including a car scene featuring an attacking angel. Yeah, Sparks of Chaos is really kicking into high gear now — things are getting seriously interesting.
