Impossible Cliff House: Amazing Sea Views
As you step across the threshold of the mesmerizing Impossible Cliff House, a vibrant energy courses through you, whispering promises of extraordinary adventures that lie ahead. Instinctively, you make your way to the expansive lookout, where an inviting array of seats call on you to sit on them.
When you gaze out at the horizon, prepare to be utterly captivated — the ocean sprawls before you, a breathtaking masterpiece of shimmering blues and frothy whites, where the sky kisses the waves, leaving you spellbound in the echoes of nature’s grandeur.
The impressive wide-open common area in the Impossible Cliff House invites you to unwind, indulge in tasty meals, sip refreshing drinks, and bask in the breathtaking panorama of the sparkling ocean.
Your gaze will be drawn from the pristine shores of Bingin Beach, sweeping all the way to the iconic Dreamland Beach, each wave a testament to nature’s artistry. What makes this gem truly irresistible is that you can immerse yourself in such lavish beauty without breaking the bank — affording million-dollar views at a very reasonable budget-friendly price.
One of the most surprising experiences you might have at the breathtaking Impossible Cliff House in Uluwatu is encountering the local monkeys. At first glance, these cheeky little creatures seem endearing. However, don’t let their playful appearance fool you!
These monkeys are notoriously mischievous and have a penchant for mischief that can quickly turn your picturesque outing into an unpleasant adventure.
During my visit, I had an unforgettable run-in with one particularly bold monkey. It happened after I had finished my lunch. Before I knew it, a monkey was making a beeline for me, teeth bared in a rather threatening manner! In a moment of sheer panic, I picked up a knife like a makeshift sword, and fortunately, the crafty critter decided that whatever it was after was not worth the risk.
It scampered off, leaving me both relieved and slightly amused at the whole ordeal. So, if you’re planning a trip to the Impossible Cliff House, brace yourself not only for the stunning views but also for the unpredictably entertaining company of the local monkeys! Just remember to keep a close eye on your belongings — or you might find yourself chasing a monkey thief!
Impossible Cliff House Review: Pros and Cons
The unique experience of staying at the Impossible Cliff House is undeniably rewarding — just be prepared for a bit of a trek! Here are some of the pros and cons that stood out to me during my visit.
Impossible Cliff House – Pros:
Breathtaking Sea Views: Experience stunning coastal vistas that make every moment unforgettable. The common area was superb!
Convenient Beach Access: Enjoy a quick and easy stroll to the sandy shores, perfect for sunbathing or a leisurely swim.
Welcoming Atmosphere: Friendly staff who are dedicated to ensuring your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
Delicious Dining Nearby: Savor exquisite seafood at top-notch restaurants on Bingin Beach on the sand, just a short distance from your accommodation, perfect for evenings by the ocean.
Impossible Cliff House – Cons:
Walking to the Impossible Cliff House: It feels like embarking on a mini-adventure, and the journey is not without its challenges. The stunning views are earned through a long trek, complete with numerous stairs that wind their way down to the breathtaking cliffside escape. While the trek does provide an invigorating workout, it might be daunting for some guests.
Naughty Monkeys: Visitors should also be prepared for the mischievous antics of the local monkeys. These cheeky creatures can be quite curious, so it’s essential to keep your doors and windows securely shut to prevent any unexpected monkey visits.
Luggage Fee: To make your stay more comfortable, it’s advisable to arrange for someone to help carry your luggage down many steps. This service typically comes with a small fee. I payed 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah — which was a worthwhile investment for a much more relaxed experience. The worst part was feeling very sorry for the person who carried the luggage.
Taxi access: Access taxis or other transportation can be exhausting. Climbing up the stairs can definitely test your stamina. I’d say it takes about 15-20 minutes, provided you only take a few short rests.
Getting around in the dark: Lastly, the descent or ascent at night may evoke a sense of unease, as navigating the stairs in darkness could feel precarious.
Longer Stays: While spending two to three nights at the Impossible Cliff House offers an unforgettable experience, I recommend considering alternative accommodations for longer stays. The property lacks convenient transportation options, which can make it challenging to explore the surrounding area.
Food Availability: During my visit to the Impossible Cliff House, I enjoyed a couple of meals. One highlight was the delicious pancakes, which were exceptional. Another standout was a flavorful Mexican dish that was equally satisfying. Dining while soaking in the stunning sea views was a major bonus. However, I did notice the limited selection of nearby dining options. Aside from a few excellent fish restaurants that open in the evenings along the beach, there didn’t seem to be many alternatives in the area. While the meals at the Impossible Cliff House were certainly satisfying, having easier access to a wider variety of dining options would have enhanced the overall experience.

Ada Nicodemou in Uluwatu, Bali
Can you believe it? The fabulous Ada Nicodemou has been spotted soaking up the sun at Bingin Beach in Uluwatu! It was impossible for me to miss her post on Instagram; I instantly recognized the stunning location just below the iconic Impossible Cliff House. How could I forget those breathtaking sea views? My time spent there left such a lasting impression that it feels etched into my memory forever.
When I saw a post of hers, I couldn’t help but leave a comment expressing my admiration. To my shock and delight, she actually liked it! Well, whether it was her or her assistant, I’ll take it as a sign that I hit the mark. Isn’t it incredible how social media can connect us to our favorite stars in such unexpected ways?
For those who might not know, Ada is not just a beach lover — she’s also the unforgettable girl with the bunny tattoo in “The Matrix,” starring the legendary Keanu Reeves.
What a remarkable career! Way before this unlikely connection, I did talk about her in 14 Goddesses or Actresses? Could this be another confirmation?
Now that I think about it, could it be that Ada Nicodemou is a secret agent for my website? I mean, I posted about this dreamy spot in my Uluwatu Bali Guide: Ultimate Short Stay Experience back in mid-March 2024, and then, wham! Who struts onto the scene sometime around July/August? None other than Ada herself! And guess what? She’s rocking a blue bathing suit that perfectly matches the color scheme of my website, Greek Gods Paradise. Coincidence? I think not!
Could it be that Ada is some sort of undercover follower turned swimsuit model, sent to lure me into a world of sun, sand, and shameless promotion? Perhaps she saw my post and thought, “I must launch my mission to attract this unsuspecting website owner, all while looking fabulous!” Hmmm… I wonder.

5. Casa Artista in Seminyak, Bali
Staying at Casa Artista in Seminyak turned out to be an unexpected chapter in my Bali journey — one that carried both lessons and reflections. At first glance, the allure of the place was hard to resist. The price was tantalizingly low, and the images promised a dreamy stay. However, upon arrival, I found myself confronted with a series of experiences that shifted my perception from hopeful anticipation to a more sobering reality.
As I approached Casa Artista, it felt less like stepping into a quaint Balinese retreat and more like entering a military installation. The imposing gated entry, complete with an ever-present attendant and a manually operated boom gate that clicked shut behind me, created an oddly sterile atmosphere. It felt as if I was entering a fortress rather than a vibrant vacation destination. The vibrant streets of Seminyak, seemed far removed, and I realized I had unwittingly isolated myself in a small bubble, far from Bali’s renowned culture and charm.
The room itself was spacious and featured modern amenities; however, the the poor air conditioning proved a worthy foe, struggling to provide the cool refuge I craved from Bali’s warmth.
Moreover, the distances in proximity to any local attractions felt like a long trek. After enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and close-knit charm of my prior stay at Satriya Cottages, the contrast hit me hard. Satriya’s lush gardens and warm Balinese décor plunged me into the heart of local life, whereas Casa Artista felt devoid of any authentic cultural essence.
It offered sleek design but lacked the enchanting spirit that made Bali so special. It was an important lesson in balancing aesthetics with authenticity, reminding me that sometimes what shines on the surface may lack depth.
Looking back, while the experience at Casa Artista was not what I had hoped, it forced me to reconsider my criteria for future accommodations. The convenience of the location and modern features are important, but they must also harmonize with the cultural vibrancy that makes traveling to places like Bali truly magical.
I suppose it served as a reminder that sometimes, even the most enticing deals come with trade-offs that can impact the entire journey. Next time, I’ll be sure to dig deeper than the surface — because after all, it’s the heart of a place that you carry with you long after the trip is over.
The pool at Casa Artista certainly looked okay, but I found myself hesitating to dive in, even though I did one day. Perhaps it was the sterile ambiance, which felt more clinical than tranquil. In contrast, I fondly remember the enchanting pools at other places I stayed in Bali, where the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
Despite my best efforts, I’m finding it difficult to highlight a positive aspect of my experience here. Upon my arrival, there was no one to welcome me, and when I did finally meet someone, they appeared preoccupied with other responsibilities, which made me feel a bit neglected.
Although my experience was not what I had hoped for, I recognize that other guests seem to appreciate the place, as reflected in its impressively high review scores.
